How to Spot a Fake Deal
Inflated list prices, junk reviews and shipping traps, explained with a real example.
1. The “was” price never existed. A chair “$399.99, now $109.99” that has sold for $110–120 all year is an 8% discount, not 72%.
2. Weak product, loud discount. 3.6 stars from 210 reviews is a warning, not a bargain.
3. Shipping sneaks back in. $30 shipping turns a “deal” into the most expensive option. We always show the price with shipping.
What a real deal looks like: the LG C5 below. LG lists it at $2,699, but we measure from the ~$1,799 it actually sells for.
